Why do Male Models make less than Female faces?

One reason is star-studded competition from Hollywood.  According to Forbes.com, many big name magazines (GQ, Details) use male celebrities for their covers.  Some actors/singers probably do photo shoots at little or no cost just so they can promote new films, albums and other projects.
